Job Description

The Care Workers Charity supports the basic welfare of current, former and retired care workers. Support is offered in the form of hardship grants, and online information and advice.

You will own the charity’s marketing, PR and social media function, working closely with the CEO, and a mentor from the sector to plan, develop and implement an effective marketing strategy. Your goal will be to drive traffic to the website, raise the profile of the charity, and drive donations. You will work alongside the engagement team in order to help our clients best market the rewards of the charity and fundraising events.

Acting as a startup your role will be pivotal to the growth and success of the charity. The role will allow you to develop your skills and experience in a key decision-making post, for a small charity in an exciting stage of its development.

Your role will be pivotal to the growth and success of the charity. As Business Development Executive you will drive new members and develop the charity’s Supporters Club. The Supporters Club is made up of care providers, suppliers and advisers to the care sector, and corporates. It is the core funding stream for the charity, in 2017 generating over £170,000 in memberships.

Principal Roles:

  • Sell new, and renew old, memberships to the Supporters Club, focussing on small and medium-sized care providers.
  • Build relationships with senior executives at member organisations.

Job Description

The Care Workers Charity supports the basic welfare of current, former and retired care workers. Support is offered in the form of hardship grants, and online information and advice.

Following a successful 12 month turnaround in 2017, we are on the look out for an ambitious Head of Operations to play a key role in the next phase of the charity's growth. The Head of Operations will support the CEO to ensure the efficient operational running of the charity, through the delivery of our strategic objectives.

You will be responsible for keeping things running smoothly on a day to day basis. This will involve managing our team, ensuring the appropriate skills training and development are in place and that a pipeline of talent is identified. You will develop and agree key performance indicators to monitor effectiveness of the team, and will report to the CEO and Board who will provide support in all areas.

You will support the CEO and Board in developing, communicating and delivering the charity's strategy on an ongoing basis. This will include playing a vital role in nurturing our Supporters Club, which in 2017 generated c£200k in income for the charity, mostly from the care sector. You will ensure that robust data is available to the business to monitor business performance, trends and support strategic decision making.

This role offers huge career potential to grow and play a leading role in taking the Care Workers Charity from £300k annual income into the £ms and becoming a real force for change in the care sector.
