The Care Workers’ Charity is thrilled to announce that applications for our Care Worker Advisory Board and Care Worker Champions Project are now open until 15 October 2024.
Supported by The Rayne Foundation as part of the Better Careers for Better Care programme, this groundbreaking initiative is dedicated to empowering frontline care workers across the UK. Central to this project is our commitment to amplifying care workers’ voices and addressing critical policy issues within the social care sector.
Key Roles Available for Frontline Care Workers:
Care Worker Advisory Board Members
- Commitment: 2-4 hours per month
- Compensation: £25 per hour
- Responsibilities:
- Attend bi-monthly online meetings to discuss social care sector issues
- Participate in Professional Care Workers Week
- Contribute to an annual wellbeing survey
- Advise The Care Workers’ Charity and, where possible, key sector leaders and decision-makers
Care Worker Champions
- Commitment: Flexible, averaging 1-2 hours per month
- Compensation: £25 per hour
- Responsibilities:
- Discuss insights from the Advisory Board
- Attend media and public speaking training
- Write for trade press
- Speak at universities and conferences
Both roles offer paid training and development opportunities, giving care workers a platform to share their experiences and influence positive change within the sector.
Application Process
Applications are now open, and we anticipate significant interest. Selection will not be on a first-come, first-served basis but will ensure a well-rounded group representing diverse experiences across the care sector. Applications will close on the 15 October 2024. We may close applications early so advice you to get the application in as soon as you can. Please note: Only frontline care workers are eligible to apply.
