Run the London Marathon 2027 for The Care Workers’ Charity
Applications Are Now Open!
This is your chance to take on one of the world’s most iconic races while making a real difference to care workers across the UK.
We’re looking for two incredible runners to represent The Care Workers’ Charity at the London Marathon 2027. Every mile you run will help raise vital funds to support care workers facing financial hardship, while shining a spotlight on the amazing people who care for others every day. Please note that the successful runner will be required to pay a discounted registration fee of £200 (50% of the standard £400 deposit) and commit to raising a minimum of £2,500. If the fundraising target is not met, the runner will be responsible for covering the remaining balance.

How to Apply
We want to hear your story.
Tell us why you’d like to run for The Care Workers’ Charity, what your connection to care is, and what representing Team CWC would mean to you.
As part of your application, you’ll need to:
- Complete the application form below.
- Upload a mandatory video (maximum 2 minutes) sharing your story and answering the application questions.
- Tell us how you plan to achieve the minimum £2,500 fundraising target, including any fundraising ideas or events you have planned and how you’ll use your own social media channels to support your fundraising.
As a Team CWC runner, you’ll also need to be happy for The Care Workers’ Charity to share your fundraising journey across our website, social media and other communications to help inspire others and raise awareness of your challenge.

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to pay a £200 deposit and commit to raising a minimum of £2,500. If the fundraising target is not met, the remaining balance will be the responsibility of the runner.

Event Terms and Conditions
- Physical Fitness: Participants should confirm they are in good physical health. Anyone with heart conditions, mobility issues, or other medical concerns should not take part without consulting a doctor.
- Eligibility: Participants must be over the age of 18 and be able to travel to London to take part in the event. Only one entry is permitted by person. The competition is not open to CWC employees, trustees, or immediate family members.
- Entry Requirements: All entries must be submitted in full by the official form to be considered and we reserve the right to discount your application if you do not submit a video or tell us your fundraising ideas.
- Selection & Winner Announcement: A panel appointed by CWC will review entries and select a shortlist based on emotional impact, relevance to the care sector, and fundraising potential. The final winner will be chosen by the panel or a public vote, depending on campaign structure.
- Winner Commitment: The selected winner must create their fundraising page within 14 days of the winner being announced and commit to raising a minimum of £2,500 for the charity. You will have to raise 60% no later than 2 months before the event and the remaining 40% by 1 month after the event.
- Cancellations & Reallocation: The prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash or another event place. If the winner is unable to participate, CWC reserves the right to reallocate the place to another entrant. In the event the London Marathon is postponed, cancelled, or rescheduled, the prize will follow the organiser’s terms, and CWC accepts no liability for changes beyond its control.
- Media & Promotion: By entering, participants grant CWC the right to use their submitted story, name, photo, video and marathon experience in social media, press, and promotional materials.
