Get ready for a magical Friday evening walk that lights up the city! Join colleagues, friends, and supporters for the Thames Moonlight 10 – a fully supported 10km or 10-mile evening walk through London’s most iconic sights – all while raising funds for The Care Workers’ Charity.

This special event brings together community spirit, fitness, and fundraising in an unforgettable urban challenge that celebrates care workers during their dedicated week of recognition.

About the Challenge

Take in London’s skyline, riverside views, and historic landmarks under the glow of the evening sky. Starting and finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground, this looped walking event showcases the capital at its best, from St Paul’s Cathedral to Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge to the London Eye, all as daylight fades into night.

Whether you choose the 10km route for a brisk evening stroll or the 10-mile challenge for a bigger adventure, you’ll be part of a vibrant crowd, supported at every step. Snacks along the route, a commemorative medal, and a celebratory finish with hot food and drink await you at the end.

Event Terms and Conditions

  • Physical Fitness: Participants should confirm they are in good physical health. Anyone with heart conditions, mobility issues, or other medical concerns should not take part without consulting a doctor.
  • Waiver of Liability: Participants acknowledge that this event involves some risk of injury. By signing up, participants agree to sign a waiver before taking part.
  • Medical Disclaimer: The organisers are not liable for any medical conditions that arise before, during, or after the event.
  • Event timings and punctuality: The event time and location details will be communicated. Participants must arrive on time to ensure safety and proper participation. It is the responsibility of the participant to arrange travel and accommodation to ensure they adhere to the event schedule.
  • Alcohol and Drugs: Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the event. If suspected, they will not be allowed to take part.
  • Event Cancellation: The organisers reserve the right to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. bad weather, safety concerns). If wind speeds of 30 mph plus are forecast or a Met Office weather warning, the event will not go ahead due to safety reasons. Unless otherwise stated, entry fees or donations are non-refundable.
  • Media Release: By participating, individuals consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional purposes.
  • Storage and Security: Participants are responsible for their own belongings. The organisers are not liable for any lost or stolen items.
  • Minimum Fundraising: The minimum fundraising target is £300 per person. Your efforts in reaching this goal are crucial to the success of our mission. Please be aware that you may be liable for the shortfall to cover the cost of your place in the event if you are unable to meet the target. In some cases, we may need to consider reallocating your spot to another participant if the target is not reached. Every pound raised will go directly towards supporting care workers and together, we can make a tremendous impact. All donations are final and non-refundable.
