Champions What is a Champion? Volunteer Champions Champion our cause and help us support care workers in financial hardship Our Champions are our network of volunteers. Champions are our eyes and ears on the ground, working in care homes and the community to fundraise and raise awareness of the Care Workers Charity. Champions have two main responsibilities: raising awareness of and fundraising for CWC. Champions use their passion for the charity and the importance of care workers to raise awareness amongst their colleagues of CWC services. This is as simple as posting updates on social media, placing a standing item in their workplace’s newsletter, putting up posters and ensuring that leaflet stands are kept well stocked. Champions also organise small-scale fundraising events within their workplaces, such as afternoon teas, quiz nights or book swaps. These events raise both funds and awareness for CWC amongst colleagues, residents and their families. The more money we raise and the wider our message is shared, the more care workers we can help. If you work as a Care Worker or manager within a care home, domiciliary care or supported living service, you can apply to be a Champion here. For the role description of a Champion click here.
